The Air France – KLM Lounge IAD went through a renovation in 2019 and has since then been kept in a great shape. We recently stopped by at this lounge on our way to Dubai from Washington DC being the contracted lounge Emirates Airlines uses.

Located in Terminal A, across Gate A20, this lounge features a blue, white, and red décor which somehow represents France’s flag. In terms of space and décor, this lounge takes a lead amongst other lounges like Lufthansa Airlines Lounge IAD (review coming up), and Turkish Airlines Lounge IAD (review coming up).

Though the lounge really doesn’t have anything spectacular in terms of food during our visit, and since we were flying first class, Emirates First Class for that matter, we decided to just pass on the food at the lounge and waited till we get onboard our flight. Knowing we were in for a treat.
Since I frequent Washington Dulles (IAD) airport a couple times a year, I found the Turkish Lounge to do better in terms of food offering. But in my highest opinion, I’ll pick the Turkish Lounge over Lufthansa Lounge any day any time.

The Air France – KLM Lounge offers some premium drinks that you’ll hardly find at other IAD lounges. The bar at this lounge was one of the highlights. The bar surely added additional great touches to the décor of the lounge.

We didn’t have to wait for too long before our Emirates flight EK232 started boarding. Overall, this was a nice lounge for a quick visit. The ambience, décor, and even the food wasn’t shabby. There were plenty of seating areas with power outlets around, and the staff was friendly and professional.
